Manchester United started the new English Premier League in a style after thrashing Leeds United 5-1 at Old Trafford to become the league leaders on goal difference.
The Red Devils were the first to score in the first half after a brilliant play between Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes who found the back of the net at the half-hour mark. However, after the start of the second half, the game was back on level after a brilliant strike from Luke Ayling.
Mason Greenwood restored the lead to the Red Devils four minutes later before Bruno Fernandes scored his second and third to complete his first-ever hat-trick for United. Paul Pogba registered his fourth assist in the match after passing the ball inside the box to Fred who made it five for the Ole Gunnar men.
Pogba and Bruno were brilliant in the opening match and they proved again they are the main players for United after they failed to win any trophy last season. Pogba provided four assists today while Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick.
The two stars dominated the midfield and the attacking ensure Leeds didn't create many chances. They were brilliant together without Rashford and Cavani while Jadon Sancho was on the bench proving they should never be benched this season if Ole Gunnar wants to win the League.
