The 2021/2022 English Premier League season kicked off an hour ago at 8 p.m. between Arsenal and Brentford, and Arsenal was defeated 2-0 after the full 90 minutes. 

Now that the season has begun, this article will reveal the Chelsea player who is both a threat and has enough talent to replace either Kurt Zuoma or Andreas Christensen this season. 

Trevoh Chalobah is the player's name after his outstanding performance in the UEFA Super Cup Final. 

Trevoh Chalobah has arguably been the preseason's breakout star. Thomas Tuchel relied on him in both roles of the back three, and he performed admirably in both. Chalabah's preseason performances earned him a starting spot in the UEFA Super Cup Final. 

And, to everyone's surprise, he did an excellent job. With a stellar performance, the youngster followed up strong performances against Villarreal to help the Blues win the UEFA Super Cup. 

The English international made more clearances (six) and interceptions (five) than anyone else on the field, while only making one fewer tackle than Mateo Kovacic. On Wednesday night, his influence was palpable, as he had more touches than any other Chelsea player on the field. 

However, as we all know from Chelsea's history, youth players are rarely given the same benefit of the doubt as other players. They are told that their opportunity will come 'later' or that they 'are not prepared.' As the opportunity never arrives, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. 

Surprisingly, Chelsea has failed to learn from these mistakes despite the fact that he is rumoured to be loaned out this season. 

Thomas Tuchel, on the other hand, has yet to make a decision on whether the youngster should go on loan or stay with the first team squad this season. 

Once upon a time, Chelsea fans saw the likes of Romelu Lukaku, who recently signed for Chelsea for a fee of £97.7 million, once prove himself for the blues after two fantastic seasons on loan at West Brom and Everton. 

He was at the point where he deserved to play for the Blues, but it didn't happen. Instead, Chelsea pursued and eventually signed Diego Costa, as they are currently doing with Jules Kounde to replace Trevoh Chalobah. 

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the 22-year-old, who seized his opportunity during the preseason and UEFA Super Cup final. 

If the club and Thomas Tuchel make the decision to keep Trevoh Chalobah in the squad this season, there is no doubt that the English international will bench either Kurt Zuoma or Andreas Christensen due to the quality and energy he possesses.
